If not you get a little to severe pixelation. Indoors was basically awful. Video played back via the HDMI connection was not good compared to burning to DVD and playing on the same HDTV. Not sure what's going on there. Thought it would upconvert to 1080i. Maybe something I don't understand. Should do an OK job for outdoor vacation video. Oh, and video stabilization made video seem to stop shaking but added a weird jerkiness to the video, kind of a delayed movement and then moves a little, then delayed movement, so on and so forth. I bought one from Newegg and it was delivered tonight. Nice camera. Haven't taken much video yet but photos look good and camera has lots of options. Video Stabilization also! Red Eye Reduction, backlight photo taking, huge LCD screen that is very sturdy, in fact camera seems like its pretty good quality for the price. Oh and it has motion detection also for taking video while there is motion in front of the camera. Microphone and speaker seemed pretty good also. Volume was pretty loud during playback. Has voice recording mode, plays MP3's and came with earphones, Comes with HDMI cable to connect directly to HD TV for upconverted playback in 1080i, comes with USB cable, comes with wall charger/USB, and video/audio out w/cable for that as well.
