The best role of business online is that of interdependency. We’ve all heard the old saying, “No man is an island.” When it comes to online business this is especially true.

If a business owner who takes their business into the online world determines they will be self reliant and never accept the help of anyone then that individual will not be in business long enough to change their minds.

It is accepted fact that the greatest tool for long-term exposure to your website is through Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Without it potential customers can’t find you. Windows 7 will arrive next year

Bill Gates has told journalists that Microsoft’s next OS could arrive sooner than anticipated.

Speaking at the Inter-American Development Bank, Microsoft’s big boss told the audience: “Sometime in the next year or so we will have a new version”.

The report on CNet.com from the speech does not, however, make it clear whether Gates was referring to the full commercial launch of the new operating system or merely a beta version.

It has already been widely reported that a test version of Windows 7 was sent to the US government last month.

Microsoft had previously implied that Windows 7 would launch 3 years after the 2007 release of Vista.

While Gates did not reveal any details of what features we can expect from Windows 7, he did say: “I’m super-enthused about what it will do in lots of ways”.

The problem stems from a buffer overflow that can occur when the player processes subtitle files used for movies, according to a security advisory.

The vulnerability existed before VLC was upgraded to version 0.8.6e in late February, but the bug appears to have escaped the last round of patches, wrote Luigi Auriemma in a note. More »

A Japanese blogger who goes by the name Hamachiya2 has discovered a single line of HTML and CSS that crashes IE 6. The line is:

script.jpg

If you’re brave, you can click here to try it out. The code is rendered correctly in Firefox, Safari and Opera (didn’t get a chance to try any other browsers, but presumably they work too). But in IE 6 it raises a fatal error in mshtml.dll

Solution:

Upgrade to IE 7 or use FireFox
